Back in Chile
(There's No Place Like Home)

Dear Friends and Family,

We praise the Lord that we again find ourselves in Chile after a very encouraging Home Ministry Assignment. We had the privilege of seeing many of you, but by no means all. So there was a bittersweet aspect to our time in the States. When all was said and done, I visited 17 churches, was in 18 states and on 19 airplanes. The trip back to Chile, like many of the domestic flights, was complicated by bad weather. It took us 36 hours to make it home to our children and we were very grateful to make it.

We spent the first weeks getting settled, (it hasn’t completely happened yet), and observing the steps forward at CEMIPRE and in Grace and Peace Church. There has been a lot of progress!

Since arriving, we have seen 4 people come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Our Resurrection Day celebration service was well attended and a joyous time.

Some of you might remember my talking about Rosalía, a young lady who has no kidneys. In her Sunday school class yesterday, 2 children responded to the gospel message. Please pray for her that she continue to take delight in reaching out to others and that she may get a kidney transplant soon.

Also remember Jaime in your prayers. This is the member of our church who waited 16 months for an operation on his back. Just last week, he was finally operated on. But the public health system sent him home just after 4 days of hospitalization. He is going through a lot of pain that could have been better managed in the hospital. Carmen Gloria, his blind wife, our church’s best evangelist, is taking care of him. It is almost too much for her.

Also intercede for David and Danielle, a newly married couple that is seriously thinking of coming to Chile to work with us. Pray that as a result of their vision trip, the Lord will confirm what He would have them do.

Also pray for Roger and Laura Dye. They are getting ready to head up to the US for a Home Ministry Assignment. May our gracious God guide them in all they plan to do while up there as well as in the preparations to go!

We are excited about the fact that Juanita has changed to a different school that looks like it is more able and willing to meet her educational needs. She has a good attitude about the change and holds no hard feelings toward those at the old school.

Continue to remember Cathy, that her hip operation could be soon, and Elena, that her educational red tape will be solved quickly.

Please know we are very grateful for each of you, for your partnership in prayer and in so many other important ways! May our risen Lord richly bless you in the days ahead!

In Christ’s love,
John
